Medeama’s Felix Kyei has been recognized as the second-best goalkeeper in the 2023/24 CAF Champions League.

Throughout the Group stage, Kyei made an impressive 24 saves over six matches. This achievement places him just behind Al Ahly’s Mostafa Shobeir, who led with 29 saves. Kyei shares his ranking with TP Mazembe’s Faty and Esperance’s Amanallah Memmiche.

Kyei’s performance in the Champions League has only added to his growing reputation. His remarkable skills between the posts have been evident since he won the Ghana Premier League Best Goalkeeper award for the 2022/23 season. This accolade marked him as one of the most promising goalkeepers in the region, and his continued excellence in the CAF Champions League further cements his status.

In addition to his shot-stopping abilities, Kyei has been noted for his leadership and composure under pressure, key qualities that have significantly contributed to Medeama’s defensive strength. His reflexes and decision-making have made him a reliable last line of defense for his team.

Kyei’s consistent performances have drawn attention not only within Ghana but across the African continent. As he continues to develop his skills and gain more experience on the international stage, many see him as a potential candidate for future accolades and perhaps even a move to a more competitive league.

The acknowledgment of his abilities in the prestigious CAF Champions League underscores the bright future ahead for Felix Kyei, as he aims to build on this success and achieve even greater heights in his career.
