Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has emphasized that tonight’s clash against Madagascar will require a blend of individual brilliance and collective effort.

The game, part of the Matchday six fixtures in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, will take place at the Al Hoceima Grand Stadium, where Ghana is set to host their opponents.

Addo, who is renowned for his tactical acumen, acknowledged that while his team boasts a wealth of talent, the ultimate outcome will depend on teamwork and adaptability. He underlined the importance of mutual support with the words,
“We have to continue to work for each other, even if somebody makes a mistake, the other one has to be there to help him out,”
stressing that even errors must be met with assistance from teammates.

He further elaborated on the team’s philosophy by noting,
“We have to push each other in a positive way, a demanding way, but very, very positive, even if things go wrong. Football is a sport of mistakes, and who does more will lose. It’s very, very important that we have a positive mindset if we make a mistake because mistakes always happen, but the most important thing is how we react as a team. This is what will be decisive at the end.”

Reflecting on their recent success against Chad, Addo praised his players for their adherence to tactical instructions but cautioned that Madagascar would present an entirely different challenge. “Surely we prepare them offensively, but also defensively… Madagascar is now a new task, it’s going to be different. For us, it’s always important that the players read the game, read the signals and read our game plan,” he explained.

The coach also highlighted the significance of on-field leadership. He remarked,
“Surely the leaders take a big role in that, if somebody is not in his position they demand and correct the position,”
and reiterated the need for a collective focus by asking,
“How do we push each other, how do we demand concentration from each other, how do we focus on our tasks? This is what will be decisive.”

Despite the statistical advantage favoring Ghana, Addo remained cautious. “Football is not like simple mathematics. You can be better; you can have more chances, but still not win,” he pointed out, reminding everyone that the unpredictable nature of the game requires resilience and adaptability.

Concluding his remarks, the coach passionately addressed the supporters, stating,
“We surely want to give everything for tomorrow’s game so that we can give back in points… We are looking forward to our next home match as well.”

Kick-off for the game is scheduled for 19:00 GMT, setting the stage for what promises to be an engaging and tactically challenging encounter.
