The Ghana international has shared his excitement following Fenerbache’s five star performance against FC Twente in the Europa Conference League qualifiers.
The Black Stars defender started and lasted the entire duration of the game as the Turkish side thumped Twente 5-1 in the first-leg of their tie. Djiku played a pivotal role in the victory, ensuring the second leg in Holland will be an easy task.
“Five star, fighting spirit and Amazing atmosphere Fenerbache,” Djiku posted on Twitter after the game.
Manfred Alonso Ugalde Arce from Costa Rica scored to put FC Twente ahead in the 20th minute mark of the game before Dutch international Jayden Quinn Oosterwolde restored Fenerbache’s parity in the 33rd minute.
In the 60th minute, Fred set up Sebastian Szymański from Poland to give Fenerbache a 2-1 lead before İrfan Can Kahveci scored a brace in the 63rd and the 74th minute to extend the hosts lead to a commanding 4-1.
After 90+3, Dušan Tadić also hit the back of the net to wrap up an emphatic 5-1 victory for Fenerbache at Ulker Stadyumu Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Spor Kompleksi.
