Young Red Bull FC, hailing from the Central Region, have achieved a significant feat by securing a coveted spot in the Division One League.
This achievement comes as a result of their successful participation in the playoff, which was organized to fill the vacancy left by West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) following their decision to withdraw from the league.
The playoff, spanning three days, was designed to identify the team that would take WAFA’s place in the league. It featured teams that had secured second place in the Regional Division Leagues within Zone 2.
Among the competing teams were Mahala Football Academy from the Ashanti Region, Team Move FC from the Western Region, and Central Region’s Young Red Bull.
Following two intense matches, Young Red Bull FC demonstrated their prowess by emerging as the victors of the playoffs, securing an impressive six points. Team Move and Mahala Football Academy secured the second and third positions, respectively, with one point each.
With this impressive outcome, Young Red Bull FC earned a well-deserved qualification to compete in Zone 2 of the second-tier league. The commencement of the league is scheduled for Wednesday, October 4, 2023, spanning across all three zones (1, 2, and 3).
