Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Jeremie Frimpong was a shinning star for Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga over the weekend.
He dazzled for Xavi Alonso’s team in their home win over SC Freiburg in the week nine clash at the Bay Arena on Sunday evening in a highly competitive clash.
He lasted 85 minutes on the field of play before he was taken off going into the last five minutes of the match and played a key role in the team’s 2-1 win to remain top of the league table after nine matches with 25 points.
Six minutes after the half hour mark, Frimpong set up Florian Wirtz to break the deadlock of the match to put the hosts 1-0 up before the end of the opening 45 minutes of the match.
