In a thrilling encounter in the Danish Superligaen, Ghanaian defender Leeroy Owusu showcased his prowess as Odense BK secured a commanding 3-1 victory over Hvidovre on Thursday evening. Owusu played a crucial role, providing an assist to contribute to his team’s winning performance.
The match marked another chapter in the history between the two teams, with Hvidovre having previously secured two wins and Odense BK three. Taking to the field at the Pro Ventilation Arena, Owusu demonstrated his endurance by completing the full duration of the game. The opening goal came in the 11th minute when Odense BK’s Tom Trybull headed the ball into the bottom left corner, courtesy of an excellent cross from Alasana Manneh following a corner kick. In the 48th minute, Odense Boldklub doubled their lead as Luca Kjerrumgaard found the net with a header from the right side of the six-yard box, with Owusu providing the assist with a precise cross.
Although Hvidovre managed to pull one back through Lirim Qamili’s penalty in the 81st minute, Odense BK maintained their composure to secure all three points.
