In the aftermath of Ghana’s disappointing performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which led to the dismissal of head coach Chris Hughton and the entire technical team, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is now considering Ibrahim Tanko and Prosper Narteh Ogum for the vacant Black Stars assistant coaching position.
The decision comes as the GFA evaluates potential candidates to reshape the technical team following the team’s failure to progress beyond the group stage for the second consecutive AFCON tournament.
While the GFA is set to provide a roadmap for the future direction of the Black Stars in the coming days, reports from Kessben FM indicate that Ibrahim Tanko and Prosper Narteh Ogum are seriously being considered for the assistant coaching roles.
Ghana, four-time Africa champions, drew two games in the recent Nations Cup, finishing third in Group B behind Cape Verde and Egypt.
The Black Stars are scheduled to return to action in March during the FIFA international break, with a friendly against World Champions Argentina planned in Beijing, China.
