President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku is representing Ghana at the 76th FIFA Congress, currently underway in Vancouver. The high-level global football summit is being held at the Vancouver Convention Centre, bringing together key decision-makers and stakeholders from across the football world.

The GFA President is attending the Congress alongside General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo and Executive Council member Nana Sarfo Oduro.

The FIFA Congress serves as the highest decision-making body of world football, convening leadership from FIFA, representatives of the six continental confederations, and officials from member associations worldwide. The annual gathering provides a strategic platform for dialogue, collaboration and policy direction aimed at advancing football at all levels.

This year’s Congress will consider several key agenda items, including the presentation of reports from the FIFA Governance, Audit and Compliance Committee, as well as the approval of FIFA’s consolidated financial statements and statutory accounts for the 2025 financial year.

A major highlight of the discussions will be FIFA’s proposed budget for the 2027–2030 cycle, projected at a record-breaking USD 14 billion. This significant financial plan is expected to drive increased investment into the global game, with a strong focus on development initiatives.

FIFA’s Member Associations are set to benefit from a substantial increase in funding through the FIFA Forward Programme, with investments projected to reach an unprecedented USD 2.7 billion – an eightfold rise compared to pre-2016 levels.

Additional agenda items include the election of a member to the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, deliberations on proposals submitted by member associations and the FIFA Council in accordance with the statutes, and updates on the global fight against racism in football.

The Congress will also feature interactive sessions, offering Presidents and General Secretaries the opportunity to share insights, exchange best practices and contribute ideas to enhance the global football ecosystem.
