Kwame Poku delivered a standout performance for Peterborough United on Tuesday night, contributing both a goal and an assist in their commanding 5-1 victory over Blackpool in League One.
Peterborough quickly took control of the Round 13 match, with Malik Mothersille opening the scoring in the 8th minute after receiving a pass from Joel Randall. Just nine minutes later, Randall himself found the net, giving the home side a comfortable 2-0 lead.
Blackpool briefly cut into the deficit with Kyle Joseph’s goal in the 27th minute. However, their hopes were short-lived as Poku restored Peterborough’s two-goal advantage just a minute later, scoring after a setup from Mothersille.
Poku wasn’t done making an impact, as he turned playmaker in the 73rd minute, assisting Joel Randall for his second goal of the game. This followed an own goal by Blackpool’s Odeluga Offiah in the 71st minute, further sealing Blackpool’s fate.
Poku’s contribution was central to Peterborough’s dominant attacking display, helping them secure a crucial victory as they push for promotion in League One.
