Ghanaian striker Malik Abubakari has returned to Portuguese football after completing a move to second-tier side SCU Torreense ahead of the new season.
The 26-year-old forward arrives with extensive European experience, having featured in leagues across Portugal, Sweden, Finland, Slovakia and Denmark during his career.
Torreense becomes Abubakari’s fifth club in Portugal, following previous spells with Vizela, Moreirense, Fafe and Casa Pia.
The former Charity Stars attacker has also enjoyed success abroad, winning league titles during his career, and will now aim to rediscover his best goalscoring form with the Portuguese Segunda Liga side.
Abubakari’s arrival comes as Torreense look to strengthen their attacking options after a difficult start to the campaign, having failed to record a victory in their opening two matches.
Known for his physical presence and finishing ability, the Ghanaian striker is expected to provide more attacking threat as the club looks to improve its league position.
Abubakari could make his debut for Torreense on Saturday, September 5, when they face Benfica, offering him an immediate opportunity to make an impact on his return to Portuguese football.
