Osman Bukari, the Ghanaian forward, has clinched his second consecutive Serbian league title as Red Star Belgrade secured the championship.
The Serbian powerhouse successfully defended their title with a 2-1 victory over Backa Topola on Thursday, establishing a commanding 14-point lead at the summit with four matches remaining in the season.
Bukari played a crucial role in Red Star’s triumph, contributing seven goals and seven assists in 27 appearances throughout the campaign. Since joining the Belgrade-based club in 2022, he has emerged as a key figure, shining in both UEFA Champions League and domestic fixtures for the Serbian champions.
This latest league triumph adds to Bukari’s collection, which includes the Serbian Cup and Serbian Super League titles secured last year. His stellar performances have attracted interest from clubs in the English Premier League and Major League Soccer, with Nottingham Forest reportedly among the potential suitors.
Although Bukari missed Ghana’s recent international friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda in March, he is expected to rejoin the national team for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers in June, where Ghana will face Mali and the Central African Republic.
