Ghanaian striker Paul Ayongo was on target as his club Academico Visei defeated CD Trofense by two goals to nothing in the Portuguese second tier week 30 game.
Ayongo converted a penalty in the 17th minute to give his club a 2-0 lead before Trofense came strongly in the second half and reduced the deficit in the 52nd minute through Messi.
He was substituted in the 90th minute as Viseu held on to their 2-1 lead despite pressure from Trofense.
Ayongo has netted seven league goals in 30 games this season as his side sit 14th on the table with thirty points.
