Germany forward Deniz Undav praised the attacking quality of Ghana’s Black Stars after scoring a late winner to secure a 2-1 victory at the MHP Arena.
The Stuttgart striker came off the bench to net the decisive goal, capitalizing on a lofted pass from Leroy Sane in the closing stages.
Arsenal’s Kai Havertz had earlier given Germany the lead from the penalty spot just before halftime after a handball by Jonas Adjetey. Ghana responded in the 70th minute when Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku calmly finished a cutback from Derrick Kohn, leveling the score.
Undav reflected on his match-winning contribution, saying, “It was incredible to hear the fans behind me. I really enjoyed that. For me, it was fantastic to come on and score the winning goal. It was a perfect evening. We had almost complete control in the first half, but we need to be more dangerous and convert more of our chances.”
He also praised Ghana’s quality, noting, “It’s always tough against a team like that. Ghana has good attacking players, as you could see from their goal. But we kept going and were determined to win. We need to work on the little things to become more efficient.”
While Germany maintained a perfect record during the international break with two wins, Ghana remains in a slump, having not recorded a victory since October 2025.
