Ghanaian football legend Rev Osei Kofi has showered praise on Mohammed Kudus, likening his impact on the field to iconic players such as Lionel Messi and other greats from Ghana.
Reflecting on his own illustrious career and the contributions of fellow legends Mohammed Polo and Abedi Pele, Rev Kofi singled out Kudus as a standout talent of his generation.
“Some players are naturally gifted,” Kofi remarked in an interview with Joy Sports. “Like [Lionel] Messi, when a team struggles, he steps up to turn things around. I had a similar role under CK Gyamfi. Whenever the team needed a lift, I had to lead by example. There were about three of us who did that – myself, Polo, and Abedi.”
He continued, “Whenever Polo had possession, the rest of us moved strategically, and he dictated the flow of the game. Such players are rare. After my era, Polo emerged, and now we have someone like [Mohammed] Kudus. Players of this caliber are generational talents.”
Kudus has risen to prominence as a key figure for the Black Stars in recent times, cementing his position as a pivotal player for Ghana.
