Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has turned down a move to France’s second highest league as he remains focus for a transfer move to Belgian Pro League side RAAL La Louvière from his parent club RSC Anderlecht.
The Anderlecht midfielder, Sports World Ghana, understands will have to be patient in a complicated matter as the transfer delay is mainly due to financial differences between the two clubs. There is a significant gap in salary coverage between what RSC Anderlecht is demanding and what La Louvière is currently willing to pay for a loan deal involving the Ghanaian international.
Anderlecht expects a higher portion of Ashimeru’s wages to be covered, while the Louviérois are offering a much lower amount, making it difficult for both sides to reach an agreement at this stage.
The Ghanaian international is attracting interest from a French Ligue 2 club who are ready to meet Anderlecht’s financial demands to buy him out of his remaining 18 months contract.

However, the 28-year old midfielder, doesn’t want to go to the second division. After a discussion with Ghana’s national team coach, Otto Addo, the brilliant attacking midfielder is aware he can only have a chance of going to the World Cup by playing in the top flight.
Ashimeru, who has vast experience at both club and international levels, remains a player of strong interest to La Louvière as they look to strengthen their squad. His technical ability, work rate, and experience in Belgian football make him an attractive option, especially for a team aiming to boost quality and depth in midfield.
Despite the financial challenge, RAAL La Louvière has not given up. The club is said to remain confident and hopeful that a solution can be found, possibly through further negotiations or compromises on both sides. Sources close to the talks suggest that discussions are still ongoing, even though no breakthrough has been achieved yet.
For now, Ashimeru remains an Anderlecht player, with his future still uncertain. Whether La Louvière can bridge the salary gap will determine if the move becomes a reality. Until then, the deal remains on hold, with fans and observers waiting to see how the situation develops in the coming days.
He therefore hopes that RAAL and Anderlecht will eventually reach an agreement as sson as possible to ensure he signs the much awaited contract.
