Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko ended their 2023/24 Ghana Premier League campaign on a high note, defeating relegated Bofoakwa Tano 3-1 at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Porcupine Warriors dominated the match from start to finish, with Kalo Ouattara opening the scoring just a minute into the game. Yahaya Baba doubled the advantage for Kotoko before youngster Peter Amidu Acquah sealed the win with a goal in the 33rd minute.

Bofoakwa Tano managed to pull one back through Aihassan Ali in the 72nd minute, but it was too little, too late for the relegated side. The victory marked a back-to-back win for Kotoko over Bofoakwa Tano in the just-concluded campaign.

Asante Kotoko finished sixth in the league standings, accumulating 49 points and just a point behind Aduana Stars and Nsoatreman FC, who placed fourth and fifth respectively.

Meanwhile, Bofoakwa Tano’s relegation was confirmed after accumulating just 33 points, finishing 17th on the league table.
