Medeama, the champions of Ghana’s Premier League, are gearing up for a tough challenge as they gear up to face the renowned African powerhouse Al Ahly in a crucial CAF Champions League clash set for Friday.
Moses Parker, the financier behind Medeama, shared insights into the team’s readiness and detailed plans for Al Ahly’s arrival.
During an interview with Peace FM, Parker disclosed that Al Ahly’s advance team would first arrive in Accra before embarking on a road journey to Kumasi, where the Baba Yara Stadium eagerly anticipates the showdown.
“Al Ahly will come to Ghana; their advance team will come to Accra; they will go by road to Kumasi, so we will give them a car. They are two. But the team will come on Wednesday; they will not land in Accra; they will land in Kumasi Airport, so that is the schedule,” Parker explained, highlighting the meticulous arrangements made for the visiting team’s arrival.
Expressing Medeama’s readiness for the challenge, Parker assured that his team was eagerly awaiting the encounter. He also mentioned a recent friendly match against Nations FC at the Kumasi Sports Stadium, where Medeama emerged victorious with a 1-0 scoreline.
“Medeama is also prepared; we are waiting for them. Medeama played a friendly match against Nations FC; we played at the Kumasi Sports Stadium; we beat them 1-0. So, we are done with that friendly match. What remains is the preparations for the match on Friday,” Parker affirmed, underscoring the team’s focus on the upcoming fixture.
With meticulous planning and thorough preparations, Medeama is poised to face Al Ahly with confidence and determination, aiming to make a strong statement on the continental stage. The clash promises to be an exciting encounter, with both teams eager to showcase their prowess and secure a crucial victory.
