FC Ashanti Gold 04 marked their first home game of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season with a 3-1 victory over Vision FC at the Len Clay Sports Stadium in Obuasi.
David Gyamfi was the star of the afternoon, finding the net three times to hand the home side all three points.
The hosts took an early lead in the seventh minute when Gyamfi latched onto a well-delivered through pass before keeping his composure to beat the goalkeeper.
Vision FC responded strongly and drew level in the 30th minute. Mohammed Sheriff produced a fine free-kick from outside the penalty area to restore parity.
Ashanti Gold 04 regained control before the interval, with Gyamfi once again making the difference.
Edmond Amakye created the opening for the second goal after making good progress down the flank and delivering a dangerous cross, which Gyamfi converted to put the home side back in front.
The forward completed his treble shortly before half-time after showing excellent individual skill to evade two Vision FC defenders before placing his finish beyond the goalkeeper.
Vision FC returned from the break determined to reduce the deficit and search for an equaliser, but Ashanti Gold 04 defended their advantage effectively.
The home side managed the game well in the second half and prevented their opponents from mounting a serious comeback.
Gyamfi’s movement, speed and composure in front of goal proved decisive as Ashanti Gold 04 secured a 3-1 win to make a strong start to their home campaign.
