Karela United were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Basake Holy Stars in their Ghana Premier League encounter at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
The home side made a strong start, taking the lead just five minutes into the game through in-form forward Alhassan Adamu. His goal marked his third in two matches, giving Karela an early advantage that they maintained until halftime.
However, the visitors found a way back into the match in the second half. Basake Holy Stars were awarded a penalty, and substitute Bismark Teye stepped up to calmly convert, leveling the score.
Neither side managed to find a winner, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. The result leaves Karela United in the relegation zone with 18 points, still struggling to climb up the table.
Meanwhile, Basake Holy Stars remain in 9th place with 24 points. The league newcomers will now prepare to host Nsoatreman FC in their next fixture, while Karela United travel to face Heart of Lions as they seek a much-needed victory to escape the drop zone.
