Legon Cities and Bibiani Goldstars played out a thrilling 1-1 draw on the final day of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, as both teams failed to win and finish their campaign on a high.
The Royals had hoped to clinch a victory to cap off a tumultuous season, but the Goldstars proved to be a tough opponent.
Fredrick Akatuk gave Legon Cities the lead after just 15 minutes, but Oleva Mohammed leveled the score for the visitors in the 78th minute.
The draw meant that Legon Cities narrowly escaped relegation, finishing 15th on the table with 45 points. Meanwhile, Bibiani Goldstars finished 11th with 47 points.
The result also sealed the fate of three other teams – Great Olympics, Bofoakwa Tano, and Real Tamale United – who will feature in the Division One League next season after being relegated from the top flight.
