The Royals took an early lead in the 16th minute with a goal from Mohammed Alidu but were unable to maintain their advantage into halftime. Great Olympics equalized in stoppage time of the first half through Albert Amoah.
Determined to clinch the win, Cities’ persistence paid off when Kwabena Boateng scored a stunning goal in the 73rd minute, securing all three points for his side.
Fabin’s team has now recorded three wins in their last five matches, bouncing back from their recent Premier League defeat to Asante Kotoko. Conversely, Great Olympics have now gone six games without a win and remain perilously close to the relegation zone, saved only by a superior goal difference.
