A victory against Legon Cities at the University of Ghana Stadium would help Kotoko narrow that gap, reinforcing their title hopes. Head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum will be rallying his squad, including in-form players like Justice Blay and Gilbani Samba O’Neil, to deliver a much-needed win.
Meanwhile, Legon Cities are enduring a challenging season. Head coach Paa Kwesi Fabin is under pressure to tighten up defensively, with the team conceding in eight consecutive matches and fans growing impatient after a recent goalless draw against Dreams FC.
In head-to-head encounters, Kotoko holds the advantage. Since December 2021, they have defeated Legon Cities three times in six meetings, with Legon Cities winning once and two matches ending in draws. Kotoko’s most recent victory over them was a 2-0 win on May 5, 2024, further boosting their morale heading into Wednesday’s clash.
