Vision FC and Hearts of Oak played out a fiercely contested 1-1 draw on Sunday afternoon at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Tema Newtown, as Round 27 of the Ghana Premier League delivered yet another compelling fixture.
The Phobians struck first in the 38th minute through defender Kelvin Osei Asibey, who rose highest to head home from a set-piece, giving Hearts a slender lead heading into the break.
But Vision FC came out stronger after halftime and quickly found the equaliser. Just three minutes into the second half, Meschack Sowah Adjetey slotted home a calm finish after sustained pressure from the home side.
Buoyed by the equaliser, Vision upped their intensity and began dominating the second half. Substitute Emmanuel Akansase came closest to securing a winner for the hosts, but his powerful low drive in the 60th minute whistled just past the post.
While the opening half was fairly balanced, Vision looked the more dangerous side after the break and will feel slightly unfortunate not to have taken all three points.
For Hearts of Oak, it was yet another missed opportunity on the road, as their winless away run continues. Vision, on the other hand, can take pride in a strong performance and a point earned against one of Ghana’s most historic clubs.
