Former Ghana international goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has unveiled his Team of the Week for Matchday 26 of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, with standout performers from across the league earning recognition for their stellar contributions.
In a 3-4-3 formation, Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare was handed the captain’s armband following a commanding display between the sticks, helping his side to a crucial result.
The three-man defensive line features Nurudeen Abdulai of Medeama SC, Samuel Osei Kuffour of Nations FC, and Rich Sackey of Aduana FC, all of whom were rock-solid at the back for their respective teams over the weekend.
The midfield quartet sees a blend of creativity and grit with Emmanuel Annor (Nations FC), Ishmael Addo (Heart of Lions), Justice Blay (Asante Kotoko), and Emmanuel Kontor (Young Apostles FC). Blay, in particular, was instrumental in Kotoko’s midfield dominance, while Addo and Annor brought energy and attacking flair.
The attacking trio includes Prince Tweneboah (Basake Holy Stars FC), Abdul Razak Salifu (Dreams FC), and Godwin Sefah (FC Samartex 1996). Their sharpness in front of goal and creativity in the final third proved decisive for their clubs in Matchday 26.
Abdul Karim Zito, head coach of Dreams FC, was named Coach of the Week after guiding his side to an important win and demonstrating tactical acumen throughout the match.
This Team of the Week highlights the depth of talent in the Ghana Premier League and the continued rise of young and experienced players alike as the season edges closer to its climax.
