Medeama SC will welcome Vision FC to the Tarkwa and Aboso Stadium on Friday night, looking to strengthen their push for a top-four finish as the Ghana Premier League season nears its end.
After a convincing 3-0 win over Young Apostles in their previous outing, the former champions are aiming to record back-to-back victories for the first time in nearly a month. Medeama currently sit in 5th place with 47 points from 30 matches, just outside the top four. A win could see them rise further up the table and keep their continental hopes alive.
Under the guidance of Coach Ibrahim Tanko, Medeama have emerged as one of the league’s most attack-minded teams. They have scored 37 goals so far and conceded just 25. Their home form has been particularly strong — with six straight wins at Tarkwa, including four clean sheets. Only one team in the league has a better home record this season.
Meanwhile, Vision FC come into the game with renewed confidence after a surprise 2-0 win over league leaders Gold Stars last weekend. That result ended a four-match winless run and gave the Tema-based side a much-needed lift in their battle to avoid relegation. Vision FC sit in 13th place with 36 points, four above the drop zone.
However, they have struggled away from home, failing to win any of their last five matches on the road. Coach Nana Agyeman will be hoping his team can carry the same fighting spirit they showed against Gold Stars into this tough away fixture.
This will be the first time the two teams face each other in Tarkwa in a league match, making the encounter even more exciting. With both teams having much to play for — Medeama chasing a top-four finish and Vision fighting for survival — fans can expect a high-stakes showdown on Friday night.
