Newly promoted team Nations got a hard fought 2-1 win over league leaders Aduana Stars during the week fourteen clash at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese on a Saturday afternoon.

Heading into the encounter, Nations FC, positioned at a commendable 4th place, had showcased their prowess by winning four out of five games, suffering only one defeat. On the contrary, the formidable Aduana Stars, sitting comfortably at 1st place, had secured three victories but experienced two setbacks in their last five matches.

The initial stages of the game unfolded at a measured pace, with both teams carefully sizing up their opponents. The tension in the air was palpable as the players maneuvered across the field, each striving to gain the upper hand.

As halftime approached, Nations FC surged ahead, courtesy of a goal expertly netted by Barimah Baah. The break did little to disrupt their momentum, as a mere two minutes into the second half, Nafiu Sulemana widened the lead, leaving Aduana Stars facing an uphill battle.

Undeterred by the deficit, Nations maintained their defensive fortitude, seemingly destined for a clean-sheet victory. Despite Aduana’s relentless efforts, the opposition stood resolute.

However, in the dying moments of the match, Aduana Stars managed to break through the defensive wall, securing a late consolation goal during additional time. The honors went to substitute Justus Torsutsey, who salvaged some pride for Aduana.

Nations FC looks a poised team for another challenging encounter as they prepare to face struggling giant Accra Hearts of Oak in their upcoming home game.

On the flip side, Aduana Stars will lock horns with Bechem United in a home clash, determined to rebound from their recent setback. The footballing drama continues to unfold, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the twists and turns of the next chapter in this captivating season.
