Faisal Charwatey made a memorable debut for Nations FC, scoring the decisive goal in their hard-fought 2-1 away victory over Aduana Stars on Match Day 3 of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park on Sunday.
This victory marked the first for the Abrankese side after two goalless draws against Bechem United and newcomers Young Apostles in their opening matches.
Charwatey’s goal came in his first start for the team, following his move from Division One outfit Akatsi All Stars on a two-year deal before the season began. He had previously come on as a substitute in the earlier matches.
Nations FC took the lead in the 28th minute with a goal from Nafiu Sulemana, ending the first half with a narrow advantage. Aduana Stars responded after the break, leveling the score in the 75th minute through Kelvin Obeng.
However, just when it seemed the points would be shared, Charwatey struck in the 89th minute to secure all three points for Nations FC, capping off a thrilling encounter.
