FC Samartex maintained their unbeaten start to the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season after coming from behind to draw 1-1 with Swedru All Blacks at the Swedru Stadium on Sunday.
The league leaders were forced to fight back after the home side made a strong start and took an early advantage.
Swedru All Blacks opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Salis Mohammed, who finished off a promising attacking move to give the Black Magicians a 1-0 lead.
The early goal gave All Blacks confidence as they looked to build on their previous home victory and return to winning ways after being held to a goalless draw by Heart of Lions in their last league outing.
The hosts continued to compete strongly after taking the lead, while Samartex gradually worked their way into the match and looked for opportunities to restore parity.
The visitors returned from the break with greater attacking intent and eventually found the breakthrough they were searching for in the 53rd minute.
Substitute Kwaku Owusu made an immediate impact after coming off the bench, scoring the equaliser to bring Samartex back into the game at 1-1.
The goal changed the momentum of the contest, with Samartex growing in confidence as they attempted to complete the comeback.
Swedru All Blacks also pushed forward in search of a second goal, but neither side could find the decisive strike during the remaining stages of the match.
Samartex remained composed in the closing minutes and successfully protected the point they had worked hard to earn away from home.
The final whistle confirmed a 1-1 draw, allowing Samartex to maintain their unbeaten record and retain their position at the top of the Ghana Premier League standings.
For Swedru All Blacks, the result will feel like a missed opportunity after taking the lead and holding the advantage for a considerable period.
The Black Magicians will now turn their attention to their next assignment, when they travel to Dormaa to face Aduana FC.
Samartex, meanwhile, will return to the Nsenkyire Sports Arena, where they will host Young Apostles in their next league fixture.
The draw ensures that both teams take something from an entertaining encounter, although Samartex will be the happier of the two sides after recovering from a first-half deficit to maintain their unbeaten run.
