Vision FC secured a landmark 2-0 victory in the Ghana Premier League, defeating Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, September 16, 2024.
Elijah Addai and Emmanuel Kyei Baffour scored crucial late goals to ensure the visitors took all three points. Addai’s goal came at the end of the first half, while Kyei sealed the win with a decisive strike shortly before the final whistle.
Accra Lions dominated the first half but failed to capitalize on their opportunities. Striker Lucky Nwafor came close on two occasions early in the game, and Musa Hamzata tested Vision FC goalkeeper Michael Abraham with a long-range shot.
The breakthrough came when Issah Kuka, formerly of Hearts of Oak, delivered a cross-field pass to Addai on the right. Addai expertly controlled the ball and lobbed it over Lions’ goalkeeper Kwame Bonsu to open the scoring.
In the second half, Accra Lions pressed for an equalizer, with Salman Faris and Nwafor coming close. Apiiga’s crosses from the left created problems for Vision FC’s defense, but the visitors held firm.
With five minutes remaining, Addai drove into the box and found Kyei, who had an earlier effort blocked. Kyei’s persistence paid off as he pounced on a loose ball to secure the victory for Vision FC.
