Vision FC gave their survival chances a major lift with a commanding 2-0 win over league leaders Bibiani Gold Stars at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Tema on Sunday afternoon.
The victory pushes Vision four points clear of the relegation zone, while Gold Stars, although still leading the table, missed a golden opportunity to widen the gap at the top. With Asante Kotoko and other challengers closing in, the pressure is mounting on Gold Stars with just five matches left to play.
Eager to end a four-game winless streak, Vision delivered a determined performance that overwhelmed their visitors. Defender Edward Agyemang opened the scoring in the 55th minute, before Edmond Asante secured the result with a second goal in the 86th minute.
Vision dominated much of the contest, enjoying more possession, creating better chances, and recording the most shots on target. Gold Stars, on the other hand, struggled to find their rhythm and looked surprisingly out of sorts for a team chasing the championship.
Gold Stars will aim to bounce back quickly when they host Karela United in their next fixture, while Vision FC will face a tough test on the road against Medeama as they continue their battle to avoid relegation.
