Bibiani GoldStars began their 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign with a 2-1 victory over Legon Cities at the Bibiani Dun’s Park on Sunday, September 8.
The Gye Nyame lads wasted no time, as Samuel Atta Kumi opened the scoring just three minutes into the game, notching one of the fastest goals of the season. This early strike gave the home side a narrow advantage heading into halftime.
Legon Cities responded quickly in the second half, with Dennis Adoma scoring his first-ever Ghana Premier League goal to equalize just two minutes after the break.
However, Bibiani GoldStars reclaimed the lead in the 72nd minute through Gideon Anaba, securing all three points.
Originally set to face defending champions FC Samartex on matchweek two this Friday, GoldStars’ fixture will be rescheduled due to Samartex’s CAF Champions League commitments.
Legon Cities, meanwhile, will take on Medeama at the TNA Stadium on Saturday.
