Aduana FC missed a major chance to close in on league leaders Medeama after being held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by Basake Holy Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park on Sunday.
The Fire Club dominated for long spells, controlling possession and constantly pushing the visitors back. Aduana created several good openings and stretched the Holy Stars defence, but poor finishing at crucial moments cost them the win.
Basake Holy Stars, who are battling to stay above the relegation zone, showed strong character and discipline throughout the encounter. Their compact defensive set-up frustrated Aduana, while goalkeeper Mohammed Fuseini made important saves to keep his team in the game.
Aduana increased the pressure in the second half, bringing on fresh legs and raising the intensity, but Holy Stars stayed focused and organised. They cleared their lines when needed and remained firm under constant pressure from the hosts.
The draw moves Aduana to second place with 24 points, but they lose ground in their chase for Medeama at the top of the table. For Basake Holy Stars, the result is a precious point that keeps them just above the relegation zone as their survival fight continues.
Both teams walk away with contrasting emotions—Aduana will see it as two points dropped, while Holy Stars will celebrate it as a well-earned point on the road.
