FC Samartex bounced back to winning ways in commanding fashion on Sunday, securing a 2–0 victory over Bibiani Goldstars at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena. After going two matches without a win, the Timber Giants played with renewed urgency as they climbed the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League standings.
The hosts flew out of the blocks, putting Goldstars under immediate pressure with quick passing and relentless pressing. Their intensity was rewarded as early as the fourth minute when Emmanuel Kofi Essien drilled a low effort beyond goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi to open the scoring.
Samartex doubled their advantage just twelve minutes later. A well-worked attacking move sliced through the visitors’ defence, allowing Emmanuel Mamah to calmly slot home and make it 2–0. With two goals inside the opening 16 minutes, the home side firmly took control of the contest.
Goldstars, who entered the fixture in 4th place, attempted to fight back and created a few half-chances. However, their decision-making in the final third let them down, and Samartex’s organised defensive setup kept them at bay throughout.
The Miners increased their tempo after the break, but Samartex remained disciplined, shutting down spaces and managing the game with confidence. The Nsenkyire Sports Arena once again lived up to its reputation as a difficult hunting ground for visiting teams.
The win moves Samartex to 6th on the league table with 21 points from 13 games—five wins, six draws and two defeats. Bibiani Goldstars drop to 4th with 22 points, now holding a record of seven wins, one draw and five losses.
It was a convincing display from the Timber Giants and another reminder of their strength when playing in front of their home crowd.
