1. Tano Bofoakwa welcomes Asante Kotoko to Sunyani Coronation Park
Bofoakwa has won only one in their last 11 Premier League games. They return to their favourite Sunyani Coronation Park after playing two Premier League home games in the Ashanti Region and Eastern Region against Samartex and Legon cities with both games ending in defeats for Bofoakwa. Results have been horrible for the Sunyani bases club and a fixture against the highly motivated Asante Kotoko will be a tough one. Fabolous has won 5 in their last 6 league games with one draw. Bofoakwa Tano against Asante Kotoko has historically been a huge fixture and another one is expected in Sunyani on Saturday afternoon.
2. Augustin Okrah will not be at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium
Inform Bechem United forward, Augustine Okrah has secured a move to Dar es Salaam to play for Young Africans. Okrah has been in a wonderful form for the Bechem club having scored 9 goals in the ongoing Premier League. Hearts of Oak is lucky to not face the dangerous Okrah at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium but still have the dynamic Emmanuel Avonyor to cause mayhem. Phobia has been horrible since the departure of Martin Koopman as the Accra-based club has won just one league match in 6. Goals are not coming from the attackers of Hearts of Oak and they also have a goalkeeping problem. This is a game that Hearts of Oak fans will expect the attackers to step up and secure the 3 points for them.
3. Bashir Hayford faces Berekum Chelsea in his first home game
Hohoe Sports Stadium will have to be merciful and kind to Bashir Hayford as he makes his first appearance as the head coach of the beleaguered Heart of Lions at home. Things have fallen apart for the Kpando-based club as they are yet to record a single win all season in the league. They face a huge test in Berekum Chelsea who are 4th on the league table. This is a must-win game for Heart of Lions.
4. Isaac Mintah’s absence has been a huge problem for Aduana Stars
9 goals were scored by Isaac Mintah before he got injured in November. The forward has missed 5 in the last 6 games for Aduana Stars. They have lost 3 and won 2 in his absence. He has been an incredible player for Aduana Stars this season. Per Aduana Star’s doctors, Isaac Mintah will be ready in the final week of January. How will the Ogya Boys fare until he returns?
5. Bibiani Gold Stars faces a tremendous test in Legon Cities
The current form table has Legon Cities 3rd with 12 points from 15. It shows how great Samuel Kwesi Fabien’s side has been. They have won their last 4 league games having scored 7 goals and conceded just one. Frimpong Manso’s Bibiani Gold Stars was beaten 1-0 by Kwadwo Amoako’s second-half penalty on Tuesday and cannot afford to drop a point at home because they are just one point above the 17th-placed team, Real Tamale United.
