Asante Kotoko made a resounding statement in the ongoing Ghana Premier League, asserting their dominance with a convincing 2-0 victory over Bofoakwa Tano. The Porcupine Warriors’ stellar performance, fueled by Steve Mukwala’s brilliant brace, propelled them to the coveted second spot on the league table.

Under the guidance of Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum, Asante Kotoko has been on a commendable run of form, securing five wins and a draw in their last seven league outings. This consistency has solidified their position as strong contenders in the fiercely competitive Ghana Premier League.

In the clash against Bofoakwa Tano, Mukwala showcased his goal-scoring prowess, exploiting a defensive lapse in the 21st minute to open the scoring for Asante Kotoko. The Ugandan international didn’t stop there; he continued to shine, extending the lead with another clinical finish in the 80th minute, sealing a comfortable victory for his team.

On the flip side, Bofoakwa Tano’s struggles persist, as they have failed to secure a win in their last six games. The team finds itself in the 14th position on the league table, accumulating 17 points after the conclusion of the week 17 fixture. It’s a challenging period for Bofoakwa Tano, and they face the daunting task of turning their fortunes around in the upcoming matches.

Asante Kotoko’s triumph against Bofoakwa Tano propels them to the second position on the league table with 29 points, trailing leaders Samartex by a mere three points. The Porcupine Warriors’ pursuit of the league title remains strong, and their recent display of skill and determination is a testament to their aspirations for glory in the Ghana Premier League.
