1. Hearts of Oak returns to Accra Sports Stadium
Phobia will make their return to their favourite Accra Sports Stadium after being ordered to vacate the venue for the Christmas jamborees by the NSA. In a huge boost ahead of the RTU clash, the Accra giants are playing at their favourite Accra Sports Stadium against a team they have struggled to beat in their last 4 meetings. RTU has beaten Hearts of Oak 4 times in succession and it’s a fine opportunity for Phobia to revenge. Aboubakar Ouattara, the new head coach for Hearts of Oak is expected to commence his reign with a win over the bottom-placed side RTU.
2. The first Bono and Ahafo derby in Bechem
Bechem United will welcome their brothers Nsoatreman to the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in Bechem. Games between Bono clubs and Ahafo clubs are super exciting and always filled with bragging rights. Both teams progressed to the quarter-finals of the MTN FA Cup via a penalty shootout. Another tough derby awaits football fans in Bechem on Sunday afternoon as Bechem United squares off against Nsoatreman FC.
3. Bofo must capitalize on Sunyani Coronation Park to save their season
Yes!! Sunyani Coronation Park is Bofoakwa’s citadel. It is in Sunyani that they deliver and must make sure that they don’t repeat the barbaric act which nearly disrupted their season. They have to start afresh at home against Great Olympics with a win.
Olympics on the other hand has been very inconsistent in the Premier League. Great Olympics won just one game in 8 before the end of the first Round. A trip to Sunyani is a difficult one for Oly Dade as they seek to start the second round with a win.
4. Can Abubakar Damba save Karela United?
Abubakar Damba in his first game for Karela won 2-0 against Asante Kotoko in Round 16th of the MTN FA Cup at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale. He is tasked to save Karela from relegation. Positioned 17th on the table, Damba has a tough job ahead as he needs to call Bashir Hayford for tutorials on how he has turned around Heart of Lions.
A welcome of the unpredictable Legon Cities to the Naa Sheriga Sports Center in Nalerigu will be a tough one for Abubakar Damba.
5. Will Dun’s Park dance once again Frimpong Manso?
2 games have been played at Dun’s Park during Frimpong Manso’s era. 3-0 win against league leaders Samartex, 4-2 thrashing of Legon Cities; these are incredible scorelines that Bibiani Gold Stars faithful will hope Frimpong Manso will continue on Sunday afternoon against Berekum Chelsea. Bibiani Gold Stars is just one point ahead of the bottom-placed RTU and hence must win to move further away from the relegation zone.
