1. Dreams FC in the form of their lives

Karim Zito’s Dreams FC are playing extremely well at the moment. The momentum they had in the CAF Confederation Cup has been transferred to the Ghana Premier League. A 2-0 away success in Nsoatre against Naoatreman is awesome. The Still Believe did it without Star Boy Abdul Aziz Issah who is at the All-African Games with the Black Satellites of Ghana. In his absence, 27-year-old Agyenim Boateng Mensah stepped up and scored a brace to record an important three points for Dreams.

Karim Zito’s Dreams FC have 2 matches in hand and is ten points behind the top of the table. They will learn their CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final opponent on Tuesday. It’s an exciting moment for the minnows as they have won 5 games in their last 7, drawn one and lost one.

2.  Karela is Asante Kotoko’s bogey side

Karela is officially Asante Kotoko’s bogey side. It is 7 games now and Asante Kotoko is yet to record a win over them.

At the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex in Nalerigu, Ibrahim Giyasu’s 60th-minute header condemned Prosper Narteh Ogum’s Porcupine Warriors to 4th defeat in their last 5 games. Asante Kotoko not moving forward now and it is a huge concern for the fans.

Abubakar Damba deserves credit for being able to silence the Kumasi-based club Asante Kotoko twice in the space of one month.

Samartex, the League leaders have lost back-to-back but Fabolous has failed to capitalize on it and is now 3rd on the log.

3. Things are so easy for Bibiani Gold Stars at Dun’s Park

4 games played at Duns Park so far under Frimpong Manso, all have been emphatic wins with 13 goals scored and 3 conceded. Dun’s Park is Bibiani Gold Stars’ haven. Life in Bibiani has been so refreshing and comfortable as they have won 12 points in their last 4 matches. Goals from Alex Aso, Amankwah Frank and an own goal from Botchway ensured a comprehensive 3-0 victory for Bibiani Gold Stars over Accra Great Olympics. Bofoakwa Tano, Karela United and Aduana Stars are the next three opponents to visit Dun’s Park. They are supposed to prepare well to avoid any form of thrashing.

4. Bright Adjei  is like a fine wine

Affectionately known as Mr B.B. C. This is a man who has seen it all with Aduana after spending almost his entire career in Dormaa Ahenkro. Bright Adjei scored Aduana’s solitary goal on Sunday against Legon Cities to ensure that his beloved Aduana Stars bounce back to winning ways. It has been a roller coaster season so far for the Ogya Boys but Bright Adjei is proving to be reliable. Isaac Mintah has left but the presence of Mr B. B. C makes it not a huge loss. Aduana Stars are second in the table with just 2 points behind Samartex with a game in hand. Can Bright Adjei send them to the promised land?

5. Samuel Boadu has a huge task to revive Berekum Chelsea

Accra Lions damaged Berekum Chelsea on Saturday at the WAFA Park in Sogakope. It was a 5-0 demolishing of the Berekum-based club. Chelsea was beaten in both halves by the unpredictable Accra Lions. Samuel Boadu was appointed as the new head coach of Berekum Chelsea on Thursday and hence did not travel to Sogakope for this difficult fixture.

Now bruised and aiming for the top 4, Berekum Chelsea must start to avoid defeats as they have lost 3 and won one in the last 4 league games. Samuel Boadu will commence his reign against Aduana Stars on Sunday and has a huge task to make his boys forget about the embarrassing defeat against Chelsea and concentrate on the Aduana Stars game.

6. Heart of Lions wins in the relegation six-pointer yet remains in the relegation zone

Bashir Hayford’s Heart of Lions broke the deadlock against RTU in the 90th minute and added another one in the 96th minute. It was a must-win for Heart of Lions because RTU was not ready to even return to Tamale with a draw. It was a huge game for both teams who remain in the relegation zone. RTU has now lost 2 games from the 3 played in the second round and seems to return to Division One. Their troubles are many compared to their relegation rivals who are in a good state and picking up points. Heart of Lions is 16th and just two points from safety.

7. Phobia misses a huge opportunity to close the gap on the top 4

Hearts of Oak is now 7 points from the leaders Samartex. A win on Monday afternoon would have reduced it to just 5 but failed against the relegation-threatened Bofoakwa. After two successful wins against RTU and Nsoatreman, confidence was high against Bofoakwa as many expected Phobia to win it but drew 1-1. It was a poor result for Hearts of Oak but it will motivate Tano Bofoakwa ahead of their fight for survival. WAFA Park in Sogakope seems to not be friendly to Hearts of Oak as life is not easy there for the Phobians.

8. Nations FC’s home record remains solid

Fresh from the narrow win over Samartex in Samraboi, Nations FC drew 1-1 at home against CAF Champions League side Medeama. This shows the kind of work Kasim Mingle has done at Abrankese. Against the big boys in the league at home, Nations are yet to taste a defeat as they have played against Kotoko, Hearts of Oak, and Aduana but none won there. In ten home games at Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, Nations FC has won 6 and drawn 4. They are 4th now with a fixture in hand.
