1. Kotoko should be wary of Accra Lion’s threat
Accra Lions pulverized Berekum Chelsea 5-0 on Saturday in an emphatic fashion. Ibrahim Tanko’s Accra Lions dominated every facet of the game in both halves. They were superb at the WAFA Park in Sogakope as they put up a 10/10 performance. On Wednesday evening, Accra Lions will visit the wounded Asante Kotoko in Kumasi at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Prosper Narteh Ogum and his charges are in horrible form as they have lost 4 of their last 5 games. They are facing an unpredictable side in Accra Lions who are coming to Kumasi full of confidence. Asante Kotoko must be careful with Accra Lions even though they have never tasted a victory against the Porcupine Warriors in their 5 encounters. They have lost 4 and drawn one against Asante Kotoko but Fabulous must be watchful.
2. Dreams FC faces Accra Hearts of Oak in a fierce contest
Contrasting results in Week 20 for both teams as Dreams recorded a superb 2-0 win in Nsoatre against Nsoatreman while Accra Hearts of Oak disappointingly drew 1-1 against lowly Tano Bofoakwa.
Karim Zito’s Dreams FC are on top of their game now as they will face Stade Malien in the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals hence will be using this huge fixture as a preparation for that game. John Antwi and Agyenim Boateng are two exciting players that Phobia must watch out for.
Aboubakar Ouattara was extremely disappointed with the missed opportunity on Monday against Tano Bofoakwa. Phobia is unbeaten in six games as they have recorded 3 wins and 3 draws. Probably the game of Week 21, Dreams FC and Accra Hearts of Oak will be an exciting game under the floodlight of Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Thursday night.
3. Aduana Stars visit Sunyani for another Bono Derby
Bono Derbies are great as a whole lot is always at stake. They will fight over bragging rights and 3 points.
Berekum Chelsea welcomes Aduana Stars to the Berekum Golden City Park on Wednesday afternoon with a win on their mind. Chelsea was heavily beaten and disgraced by Accra Lions on Saturday and they have the opportunity to redeem their image but it will be a tough test against Aduana Stars. The Ogya Boys are second with a game in hand but have been very inconsistent.
Samuel Boadu will be in charge of his new team but a lot ought to be done ahead of the Bono Derby as the spirit of the team is down as they have won just 1 in their last 5 games.
4. Samartex and Nsoatreman have the opportunity to get back to winning ways
The Timber Giants are back to their favourite Nsenkyire Sports Complex after two defeats in succession. Nsoatreman also has been beaten in their last two games. These two teams have been in the top 5 on the table for a long time as it suggests how incredible they have been. They love playing at their favourite home grounds hence making Samartex the favourite for this one. Samraboi has witnessed 8 wins and 1 defeat for Samartex and they will be happy to bounce back to their best. A win for Samartex will help them remain on top of the table.
5. Another relegation six-pointer in Sunyani
Tano Boafoakwa faces Heart of Lions in Sunyani as it promises to be a cagey affair. The teams are separated by 1 point as Heart of Lions is placed on 16th while Bofoakwa lies on 17th. There’s not much to separate these two teams as both have been abysmal but Heart of Lions have been winning points recently. The last time Tano Bofoakwa won a league game was in Week 9 against Nations FC. They need the three points and must take advantage of the Sunyani Coronation Park. Whoever wins will have a huge edge in the battle for survival.
