1. It’s a game that can go a long way to determine who survives and relegated.

It is Karela United against Heart of Lions. Two teams that have endured a lot in the ongoing season as both are not safe in the fight to survive.

Karela sits 15th on the table and has 5 points more than 17th-placed Heart of Lions. Karela United are great at home as they have won their last four in all competitions. A win for Karela United will open an 8-point gap between them and their opponents Heart of Lions on Sunday. The game is a relegation six-pointer.

2. Samartex must win to leapfrog Nations FC

Nations FC secured a great win over Olympics on Friday afternoon which subsequently sent them to the top of the table. It is Samartex’s turn to reclaim the top spot.

It is looking increasingly likely that it will be a two-horse race as Samartex and Nations have shown title-winning credentials. Samartex at their favourite Nsenkyiire Park will face the defending champions Medeama SC who also has a slim chance to defend their title. It is a crucial game for the home side as they have to win at all costs.

3. Nsoatreman meet Berekum Chelsea in another Bono Derby

Bono Derbies and Bono-Ahafo Derbies are always entertaining and fiercely contested. On Sunday afternoon at the Nana Koramansah ll Park, Maxwell Konadu’s Nsoatreman will face Samuel Boadu’s Berekum Chelsea. Both teams are not in great form heading into the fixture.

Nsoatreman has won one and lost four in their last 5 GPL games albeit progressed to the semi-finals of the MTN FA Cup semi-finals last week.

Berekum Chelsea on the other hand has won just 2 games in their last 9. Both teams need the three points to boost their morale ahead of the final part of the season.

4. Hearts of Oak can move into the top five of the table with a win over Bibiani Gold Stars

Hearts of Oak lost 2-1 to Samartex last week as it ended head coach Aboubakar Ouattara’s unbeaten run. Back to the Accra Sports Stadium, Accra Hearts of Oak will face Bibiani Gold Stars on Sunday night in a game Accra Hearts of Oak must win and move higher up the table. The Phobians have played well under Ouattara and must quickly bounce back to winning ways on Sunday.

5. RTU travels to Dormaa Ahenkro to face Aduana Stars

Real Tamale United has lost 8 away games consecutively. The Tamale-based club is relegation-bound. Their performance has been so much worse.

With a trip to face the inconsistent Aduana Stars, it looks increasingly likely that RTU will lose once again. Aduana is 3rd on the table and trails the leader’s Nations FC by 7 points. A win will cut it to just 4.
