Ghanaian giant Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC will host relegation threatening side Tamale City FC in the week 29 of the ongoing 2022-23 Ghana Premier League season.
Today at 6pm at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, the Porcupine Warriors will be hoping for a win against the Tamale Lads to bounce back from that defeat on Thursday against Accra Great Olympics FC.
On jJanuary 13 at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale, the two teams played out an entertaining 1-1 draw in their first ever meetings in the Ghana top-flight.
Kotoko, in their last match at their favourite grounds, the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, beat League leaders Aduana Stars FC 2-1 in an impressive comeback victory over the fire lads.
Nonetheless, the Porcupine Warriors suffered a painful 2-0 defeat on the road again after losing their previous away game before the victory against Aduana Stars FC at the Golden City Park on Berekum to Chelsea.
Kotoko’s hopes of defending the league title is gradually fading away due to bad away form in the Ghana Premier League.
Tamale City have lost two games in their last ten in the league and just one defeat in their last seven matches with a three games unbeaten run currently in the league.
They would be brimming in confidence ahead of the game following their emphatic and commanding 4-1 victory over former Ghana Premier League champions Accra Hearts of Oak SC last Wednesday.
In their last five games on the road, THE CITIZENS have suffered just one defeat on the road with that only defeat coming at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park against Aduana Stars FC, a game which was marred by violence of the home fans.
Out oof the 28 games, Kotoko have won 11, drawn nine with eight being defeats in the Ghana Premier League with Tamale City boasting of eight wins, 11 draws and nine defeats.
The game will kick of at 6pm today at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi and will be live on Adepa Channel StarTimes.
