In a tightly contested Week 30 match of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, Nations FC edged out Accra Lions with a 1-0 victory on Friday afternoon at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese.
Prior to the match, Nations FC was in 2nd place with 45 points, while Accra Lions were close behind in 3rd place with 44 points.
The game saw both teams vying for control in the midfield, but neither side could find the net early on. The breakthrough came in the 41st minute when striker Barimah Baah scored the decisive goal for Nations FC.
Despite several tactical adjustments and substitutions in the second half, Accra Lions were unable to penetrate the resilient defense of Nations FC.
The home fans remained vocal and supportive as Accra Lions intensified their attacks, but Nations FC’s defense remained steadfast. Looking ahead, Nations FC will play Aduana Stars away in their next match, while Accra Lions are set to host Dreams FC.
