Hearts of Oak have their work cut out for them when they make the long journey to the Nana Gyeabour park to battle Bechem United on the final day of the season on Sunday June 11, 2024.

The Phobians must beat United away from home to stand any realistic chance of avoiding the drop from the Ghanaian top-flight.

Hearts of Oak’s have endured a difficult campaign this term as they lie just a point above the relegation zone.

Anything apart from victory could prove disastrous for the former African champions- who must produce a big performance at the Nana Gyeabour park against Bechem United on Sunday.

Bechem United sit 7th on the league table after 33 matches with 48 points, having won 2, drawn 1 and suffered 2 defeats in their last 5 outings.

The Hunters have managed to accumulate 34 points at home this season, scoring 24 and conceding 9 goals.

They are ranked as the 7th best home performers and are unbeaten in their last 5 home games.

Hearts of Oak are 14th on the league table with 42 points after 33 matches, having won 2, drawn 1 and suffered 2 defeats in their last 5 league games.

The Phobians have managed to secure 15 points away from home in this campaign, scoring 13 and conceding 18 and are the 4th best away performers in the league after 16 appearances.

The former league champions have lost 4 of their last 5 away encounters.

Bechem United have played Accra Hearts of Oak three times at home in the league since 2020/21 season with Bechem United wining one, drawing one and losing one.

In the 2020/21 season, Bechem United lost 0-1 to Accra Hearts of Oak, drawn 1-1 in the 2021/22 season before recording a 1-0 victory in the 2022/23 season.

Bechem United can rely on Seth Kwadwo, Boa-AT Regain, Cephas Mantey, Emmanuel Ababio, Emmanuel Abban, Emmanuel Annor, Joseph Kinful, Francis Acquah, Clinton Duodu, David Asabere, Francis Twene, Samuel Kuffour, Isaiah Nyarko and Gabriel Tenlep.

Youngster Hamza Issah has banged in 12 goals this season for Heart of Oak and could be available for the game on Sunday.

Other key players like, Linda Mtange, Glid Otanga, Seidu Suraj, Martin Karikari, David Oppong Afrane, Michael Ampadu, Kassim Cisse, Yaw Amankwah Baafi, Denis, Korsah, Kofi Agbesimah, Salim Adams, Salifu Ibrahim, Issah Kuka and Raphael Amponsah could be available for the must-win game.
