Ghana has seen a rise in the latest FIFA rankings, marking their first upward movement since July 2024, when they climbed from 64th to 60th place.
The Black Stars now sit in 76th position globally, moving up from their previous 77th spot, which they had occupied since November 2024.
This positive change follows Ghana’s strong start to the 2025 calendar year, which included two important victories during the recent international break.
The Black Stars won key matches against Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers’ Matchday 5 and 6.
As a result of these wins, Ghana has overtaken Israel, who dropped two places in the rankings. However, despite this global improvement, Ghana’s standing in the African rankings remains the same, with the team holding onto 14th place on the continent.
Head coach Otto Addo will be aiming to further elevate the team’s ranking as they return to action later this year.
Ghana is set to compete in a four-nation tournament in June, followed by World Cup Qualifier matches against Chad and Mali in September (Matchday 7 and 8).
