Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has etched his name into the history books after officially becoming the highest-scoring Ghanaian in a single Premier League season.
The forward now boasts 13 goals in the 2025/26 campaign, surpassing the long-standing record of 12 goals jointly held by Tony Yeboah and André Ayew.
Yeboah famously struck 12 goals in consecutive seasons for Leeds United (1994/95 and 1995/96), while André Ayew matched that tally with Swansea City in the 2015/16 season. Semenyo has now gone one better, setting a new benchmark for Ghanaian excellence in England’s top flight.
The historic moment arrived during Manchester City’s clash against Fulham at the Etihad Stadium, where Semenyo found the back of the net to reach his 13th goal of the season. He was not done there, later providing an assist to help City double their advantage before the half-hour mark in a commanding performance.
Remarkably, Semenyo’s record-breaking tally has come across spells with AFC Bournemouth and Manchester City, following his January 2026 switch to the reigning champions.
Since joining the Cityzens, the Ghanaian forward has hit the ground running, registering five goals and two assists in just seven appearances, underlining his seamless adaptation to Pep Guardiola’s side.
His current 13-goal haul also surpasses his own previous best of 11 goals set during the 2024/25 season, highlighting his steady rise and growing influence. In addition, Semenyo has now climbed to second place among active Ghanaian Premier League scorers with 27 career goals, trailing only Jordan Ayew’s record tally of 42.
With several matches still to play and his confidence soaring, Semenyo will be eager to extend his record even further as Manchester City continue their pursuit of another Premier League title.
