Chelsea has set its sights on Ghana and Ajax midfielder Kudus Mohammed to fill the number 10 position following the imminent departures of Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount, and others.
However, Chelsea is not the only club interested in the talented Ghanaian midfielder. Dortmund, known for buying low and selling high, has also been linked with Mohammed.
Jennifer Mendelewitsch, Mohammed’s agent, officially announced that the 22-year-old will be leaving Dutch Eredivisie giants Ajax during the upcoming summer transfer window. His outstanding performances this season have attracted significant interest from several top European clubs.
Mendelewitsch confirmed in a recent interview that Mohammed has turned down Ajax’s offer of a contract extension, indicating his desire for a new challenge elsewhere. She stated, “After the World Cup and this season, there is a lot of interest in Kudus. I believe it’s in the best interest of both Ajax and Mohammed for him to make a transfer now.”
Mohammed’s current contract expires in the summer of 2025, and he is valued at around €40 million. Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Newcastle United, Manchester United, and Liverpool, have all shown interest in securing his services.
With 18 goals and 7 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions, Mohammed has had an impressive campaign, establishing himself as a rising star in European football.
As the summer transfer window approaches, Mohammed’s departure from Ajax seems inevitable, as he looks for new opportunities and challenges to further advance his career.
