Dutch-born Ghanaian striker Brian Brobbey was on target twice as Ntherlands U-21 posted a 3-0 win against Moldova in European Under-21 Championship qualifiers earlier on Friday night.
Quinten Timber opened the scoring for the Dutch side after just two minutes into the game before Brobbey struck in the 17th and 58th minutes respectively.
Netherlands who have lost none of their last 8 games, will next play Wales on 11th June, 2022 in the qualifiers.
Meanwhile, Brobbey who rejoined Ajax on loan from German side RB Leipzig for the rest of the 2021/22 season recently confirmed his willingness to stay at the Dutch powerhouse pemanently.
“I’ve said before that I want to stay here, that’s all I can say. I think the clubs are talking to each other.” Ajax hopes to be able to buy him back from Leipzig, but that comes with a price. The Germans reportedly want a double-digit amount.
“I don’t know if I’m worth that. I’ll leave that to Ajax,” said Brobbey, who received a message from Leipzig after the won national title.
“They congratulated me. I’ll keep what we discussed further to myself. Have I already spoken to Alfred Schreuder (the new Ajax coach, ed.)? No, I don’t have his number, haha.”
