Kotoko legend, Karim Zito has wants the club’s incoming coach to do proper consultations before he takes over the vacant role.
The record winning Ghana Premier League club are without a substantive trainer following the resignation of Prosper Narteh Ogum who led them to last season’s league title.
The 2022/23 Premier League Champions will thus, go into the CAF Champions League against Burkina Faso champions, Rail Club de Kadiogo in September.
“The problem I see in Kotoko today is, the coach who qualified them is not around.
“And when you look at the time to the day of the competition, it’s about one month and one month for another coach to come, if he doesn’t work well, he will be disturbed,” Karim Zito told Radio Gold TalkSport.
“Either the [new] coach should consult the outgoing coach for some tactical issue of the players and the way they play.
“Because if the coach comes and tries to change things now, he will have problems because even with the white players they find it difficult in adaptation.
“What you have to do now is to go into the archives of the previous games played or you consult the outgoing coach to brief you on certain things and then you start from there and gradually you will be adding yours until the time comes.” Karim Zito told Radio Gold TalkSport.
The first leg is billed for the weekend of September 9-11 with the reverse fixture set for the following weekend.
