Ghana’s U15 boys’ team got their CAF African Schools Football Championship campaign off to a flying start with a confident 2-0 win over Uganda on Wednesday at the University of Ghana Stadium.

Winger John Andor was the star of the show, netting both goals for the hosts. His first was a brilliant strike that gave Ghana the lead, while his second came courtesy of a goalkeeping error—securing all three points in their opening group game.

Although making their debut in the competition, the young Ghanaian side played with poise and control, dominating the 40-minute match—divided into two 20-minute halves—from start to finish.

The team will look to build on this impressive performance when they return to action on Thursday. Ghana is scheduled to face South Africa at 11:00 am, followed by a clash against Algeria at 3:00 pm to conclude their group stage campaign.

The 2025 edition of the CAF African Schools Football Championship is being held from April 23 to April 26 at the University of Ghana Stadium. With home support behind them, the young Ghanaians will be aiming to go all the way and lift the trophy on home soil.
