Ghana plays with Chad soon and 1xBit is ready to covet the game. They will meet in a World Cup qualifier on 4th of September 2025. The Black Stars seek to maintain their leadership. That’s despite a not easy period in Ghanaian football. While Ghana dominates the general betting odds at 1.03-1.14 to win, their recent AFCON qualification failure has created a crisis within the team setup. Next, the 1xBit experts share their view on this game.

Now, Ghana leads World Cup qualification Group I. It has 15 points from six matches. So, it holds a three-point advantage over Comoros (they are the second). This away fixture in N’Djamena gives both an opportunity to extend their lead against the group’s weakest team. And a crucial test of their mental resilience following their shocking failure to qualify for AFCON 2025. The first time since 2004 they’ll miss the continental tournament.

Ghana’s troubled stars amid leadership crisis

The Black Stars enter this qualifier in a turmoil despite their strong position. Coach Otto Addo faces scrutiny after the AFCON debacle.

Ghana’s brightest talent — Mohammed Kudus. He was transferred from West Ham to Tottenham. This happened in July 2025. But he carries a lot of baggage. Kudus was not a very stable player in his second season at West Ham. And he faced disciplinary issues. His form and leadership role remain questionable.

Thomas Partey’s exclusion dominates headlines after his excellent final season at Arsenal.  However, legal troubles have led Otto Addo to exclude him from recent squads.

Most controversially, Andre Ayew remains completely sidelined since Otto Addo’s appointment in March 2024. Ghana’s most-capped player with 120 appearances has been excluded despite being available. Otto Addo personally traveled to France to explain the decision. But Ayew rejected the justification.

Chad’s mountain to climb

Chad joins this match with no chance for the World Cup. They are last in Group I. Everyone knows that they have got 0 points from six matches. Their recent 5-0 humiliation by Ghana showed the gulf between these nations.

The Chad squad remains almost entirely domestic-based. They have 23 of 25 players coming from local clubs, primarily AS PS. Goalkeeper Mbaynaïssem Jourdain stands as their most notable performer. He is currently playing for CSK Dushanbe. It’s in Tajikistan.

Chad has never qualified for such a tournament. Their greatest achievement being the CEMAC Cup victory. Their current winless streak extends to 19 matches. They scored just 0.1 goals per match. And conceded 1.7 in their qualifying campaign.

Tournament context and stakes

This game represents Matchday 7 of the qualifiers. The tournament’s expansion to 48 teams. That provides more opportunities. But competition remains fierce within each group.

Now, Group I standings show Ghana and Comoros. They tied on 15 pts. Madagascar (10 points) and Mali (9 points) are still alive. Mathematically. Chad’s elimination allows them to focus on development.

Match predictions and key factors

Betting markets reflect the massive quality gap. Ghana priced at 1.03-1.14 to win while Chad sits at astronomical odds of 26-67. Bookies consensus favor a Ghana victory with under 4.5 goals.

Ghana faces several key absences. Among them are Alidu Seidu (ACL injury), Joseph Paintsil (quadriceps), Abdul Fatawu Issahaku (ACL recovery). And Tariq Lamptey (injury concerns). But their remaining squad depth far exceeds Chad’s capabilities.

Weather conditions present potential challenges, with September temperatures in N’Djamena reaching 33°C (91°F). The extreme heat could affect Ghana’s performance. Though their superior fitness levels should prevail.
