Dutch-born Ghanaian attacker Deabeas Owusu-Sekyere found the net for Zhejiang Professional in their match against Qingdao West Coast in the Chinese Super League.

It was the first time these teams had faced each other, adding to the excitement of the encounter. Despite the defeat, Owusu-Sekyere’s performance was a bright spot for Zhejiang.

Starting the game and playing the full 90 minutes, Owusu-Sekyere showcased his skill and determination on the field. His goal in the 50th minute brought Zhejiang back into contention after falling behind.

The first goal of the match came in the 30th minute, when Nelson da Luz of Qingdao West Coast scored with a left-footed shot, assisted by Brayan Riascos during a quick counter-attack.

Owusu-Sekyere’s equalizer in the 50th minute, with a right-footed shot from close range, lifted Zhejiang’s spirits. It was skillfully assisted by Sun Guowen’s header, igniting hope for a comeback.

However, Zhejiang’s hopes were dashed when Nelson da Luz scored his second goal in the 66th minute, securing Qingdao’s victory.

Despite the loss, Owusu-Sekyere’s contribution to Zhejiang’s performance cannot be overlooked. In the 2024 Chinese Super League season, he has played four games and scored two goals, showcasing his impact on the team.
